Job Title: Teaching Assistant

Location: Northumberland

Contract Type: Long term

Leader Education are recruiting a Teaching Assistant for an alternative provision in Northumberland.

Pupils within this school will have social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH) therefore, some experience with SEMH or vulnerable individuals would be ideal.

Having received a rating of 'Good' from Ofsted, this school prides itself on providing a safe, nurturing and community-based environment, ensuring that pupils reach their full potential with a foundation of values on which to build a successful life.

The normal working pattern is Monday-Friday 8:30 until 16:30 and is a long-term position.

The ideal Teaching Assistant will:

  • Have a fully enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one.
  • Have experience of working in a transferable role.
  • Work with the pupils on both a 1:1 basis and in group settings, communicating effectively.
  • Follow personalised curriculum and care plans to meet pupil's requirements.
  • Participate in the planning and implementation of the child's curriculum through lesson planning.
  • Possess good classroom skills.
  • Set up lessons, equipment, and activities within the classrooms.
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other teams to create a holistic supportive environment for the pupil.
