Job Title: Teaching Assistant
Location: Northumberland
Contract Type: Long Term
Leader Education are recruiting a Teaching Assistant to work within a Northumberland based secondary school, working with children who have Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
The ideal Teaching Assistant will have experience working with SEMH children or vulnerable groups.
This school aims to provide the highest quality education to its cohort of 100 learners, with core values of respect, integrity, compassion, honesty, and trust underpinning the way in which they deliver their curriculum.
The normal working pattern is Monday-Friday 8:30am until 16:30pm and is a long-term position.
The successful Teaching Assistant will:
- Have a fully enhanced DBS on the update service or be wiling to obtain one.
- Have experience of working in a transferable role.
- Work with the pupils on both a 1:1 basis and in group settings, communicating effectively.
- Follow personalised curriculum and care plans to meet pupil's requirements.
- Participate in the planning and implementation of the child's curriculum through lesson planning.
- Possess good classroom skills.
- Set up lessons, equipment, and activities within the classrooms.
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other teams to create a holistic supportive environment for the pupil.
