Job Title: Teaching Assistant

Leader Education are recruiting a Teaching Assistant to work within an alternative provision based in Gateshead.

This alternative provision focuses strongly on ensuring pupils reach the highest levels of personal achievement and development, ensuring that every pupil feels happy and safe.

The normal working pattern is Monday-Friday 8:30 until 16:30 and is a long-term position.

The successful candidate will:

• Have a fully enhanced DBS on the update service or a willingness to obtain one.
• Have experience working alongside pupils with SEMH and behavioural needs.
• Work with pupils on a 1:1 basis and in a group setting, communicating effectively.
• Work effectively with parents, carers, and other members of multidisciplinary teams to provide the best support.
• Be flexible and resilient.
• Possess communication skills that can be personalised to suit students of different abilities.
• Possess good classroom skills.
