Job Title: Teaching Assistant

Leader Education are seeking a Teaching Assistant to join one of our schools in Bradford, providing specialist support for children aged 3 to 18 with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

Prior experience or transferable skills in SEND and SEMH would be ideal, as many students in this school benefit from tailored support to address their SEMH needs.

The school is committed to creating a safe, happy, and engaging learning environment where every child is valued for their individuality.

The normal working pattern is Monday-Friday 8:30 until 15:30 and is a long-term position.

Role Requirements:

  • A fully enhanced DBS on the update service or a willingness to obtain one
  • Previous experience working in a similar role within an educational setting
  • Resilience and the ability to not take things personally.
  • Be adaptable and use your own initiative.
  • This role can often be physically demanding.
  • A caring, patient and supportive nature.
  • Expressive and talkative - pupil may be non verbal but loves talking/singing.
  • Reliably commute and commit to work. Ideally have a car.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with teaching staff, therapists, and other support staff.
  • The ability to adapt and respond to the dynamic and individual needs of students.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
