Job Title - SEND Teaching Assistant
Salary/Rate - £23,000 - £24,500 / annum
Contract: Permanent
Location - Runcorn
Start date - ASAP
Leader Education is working in partnership with a SEN School based in Runcorn.
We are recruiting for an experienced Teaching Assistant to work in a specialist SEN school, providing educational support to students aged 7 - 18.
You will have previous experience of working with students with SEMH and complex needs - social, emotional and mental health issues (previously known as BESD, SEBD & EBD) learning difficulties and challenging behaviours. Large majority of the pupils are diagnosed with autism.
behaviour management skills are key as well as patience, empathy and understanding.
THE JOB:
· You will be required to provide either one to one support or small group support to learners with a variety of needs
· Comply with individual learning plans
· To take direction from the class teacher and help support
YOU:
· You must be an experienced classroom support assistant with a good level of experience of working with students with SEMH needs
· Be patient and resilient
· Be creative
· Make learning fun
· Excellent communication skills
· Have a therapeutic and holistic approach
· Team Teach trained would be advantageous, although training can be given.
Job Type: Permanent
