Leader Education are recruiting for a SEND Teaching Assistant to work at a mainstream Primary school based near Amble. This school caters for children aged 2 to 11 years old. This role will involve working 1:1 with children in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). The ideal SEND Teaching Assistant will have some experience working with SEND children as well as a genuine interest and passion for education.

The normal working pattern is Monday to Friday 11:00am to 3:00pm and is a long-term position given a successful trial.

The successful candidate will have:

• An enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• The ability to support the pupil in accessing the curriculum and participating in classroom activities
• A compassionate, understanding personality that values inclusivity and respect
• Some experience supporting students with SEND in an education setting is desirable
• An understanding of the safeguarding and ensuring the well-being of children
