Job Title: SEND Secondary Teacher
Location: Sunderland
Contract Type: Long Term
Leader Education are recruiting a Secondary SEND Teacher to work at a designated provision for learners aged 11-19 who have severe, profound, and multiple learning difficulties. The ideal candidate will have QTS, as well as experience working with children with SEND. The school caters for young people with special educational needs and difficulties in Key Stage 3 and 4.
The school offer a warm and welcoming approach with a high focus on improving both academic and social skills. The school had a mixture of good and outstanding outcomes from their last Ofsted inspection, with an over 'good' rating.
The normal working pattern is Monday-Friday 8:30am until 4.30pm and is a long-term position pending a successful trial.
The successful candidate will have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one.
- A degree in Mathematics, English or a related field.
- Experience teaching the national curriculum to students with special educational needs is desirable but not essential.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A passion for working with students with diverse learning needs and a commitment to inclusive education.
