Job Title: Learning Support Assistant

Location: South Tyneside

Leader Education are recruiting a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to work within a South Tyneside based Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) school.

This school prides itself on having a positive and welcoming atmosphere, working alongside parents, carers, and multidisciplinary teams to meet the needs of its pupils effectively.

The normal working pattern is Monday-Friday 8:30-16:30 and is a long-term position.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have a fully enhanced DBS on the update service or a willingness to obtain one.
  • Have experience working with SEND or vulnerable groups.
  • Assist pupils in lessons and activities.
  • Be flexible and resilient, meeting the diverse needs of students.
  • Work effectively with parents, carers, and other members of multidisciplinary teams to provide the best support.
  • Be confident in working alongside students, ensuring they are fully supported within their learning and general classroom activities.
  • Possess communication skills that can be personalised to suit students of different abilities.
