SEND ENGLISH TEACHER WANTED - ASAP START

Job Title: SEND English Teacher - ASAP START

Location: Stockport, Greater Manchester

Contract Type: Long-term contract with a view to a permenant position

Leader Education are recruiting for an English Teacher for a small SEND Secondary School in Stockport, Greater Manchester. The school provides a tailored and structured education for children aged 11 - 18, who have been identified as having Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and/or Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC). The school provides a range of subjects that facilitate personal and academic growth, and prepare children for life after education.

The ideal candidate will be resilient, dedicated, and empathetic. We are looking for someone who has previous experience teaching in SEND/SEMH settings, and can adapt lesson plans to the individual need sof the children. Excellent behavoour management and classroom management skills are a must. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is not essential, however would be advantageous. We are ideally looking for an individual who has experience managing challenging behaviour.

This is a full-time position with the working hours of Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 4:30pm.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK is advantageous but not essential
  • Previous experience teaching English within a SEND Secondary School and be willing to give permission to obtain references
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent planning and the ability to deliver fun and engaging lessons
  • Adaptability and a commitment to meeting the diverse needs of students
  • Proficiency in utilising technology for teaching and learning purposes
