Job Title: Level 3 Teaching Assistant
Location: Gateshead
Contract Type: Long term
Leader Education are recruiting a Level 3 Teaching Assistant for a Special Needs and Disabilities (SEND) school in Gateshead.
This is a specialist school for pupils aged 11-18 with Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD) and Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC).
All pupils have an Education Health Care Plan (EHCP) and receive dedicated support from a team of highly trained staff.
The ideal Teaching Assistant will be committed to empowering students and equipping them with the skills and confidence needed to thrive in adulthood.
The normal working pattern is Monday-Friday 8:30 until 16:30 and is a long-term position.

The ideal Teaching Assistant will:
- Have a fully enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one.
- Have experience of working in a transferable role.
- Follow personalised curriculum's and care plans to meet pupil's requirements.
- Work with the pupils on both a 1:1 basis and in group settings, communicating effectively.
- Participate in the planning and implementation of the curriculum through lesson planning.
- Set up lessons, equipment, and activities within the classrooms.
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other teams to create a holistic supportive environment for the pupil.
