Job Title: Learning Support Assistant

Leader Education are recruiting a Learning Support Assistant to work within an alternative provision, working closely with Key Stage 2 students.

This role involves working with pupils who cannot access mainstream education due to their Social, Emotional, Mental Health (SEMH) and behavioural needs.

This school offers personalised learning in a safe, nurturing environment.

Pupils follow an alternative curriculum that equips them with real-life skills, preparing them for the next step in education, employment or training.

The normal working pattern is Monday-Friday 8:30 until 16:30 and is a long-term position.

The successful candidate will:

• Have a fully enhanced DBS on the update system or a willingness to obtain one.
• Provide tailored support to pupils with SEMH and behavioural needs, both 1:1 and in group settings.
• Have experience working with individuals with more challenging behaviour.
• Establish a supportive and consistent relationship, promoting a positive learning experience.
• Develop a knowledge and understanding of the academic, emotional, and behavioural needs of the child and respond to these effectively.
• Be flexible and resilient.
• Possess good classroom skills.
