Job Title: Learning Support Assistant

Location: North Tyneside

Contract Type: Long term

Leader Education are recruiting a Learning Support Assistant who would thrive within an alternative provision.

Pupils within this school will have social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH) therefore, some experience with SEMH or vulnerable individuals is needed.

This alternative provision in North Tyneside offers pupils a fresh start in education and a chance for a better future. Recently awarded a 'Good' rating by Ofsted, the school has been commended for its high expectations for students.

The ideal Learning Support Assistant will successfully help pupils to excel in a positive learning environment offering support and assistance.

The normal working pattern is Monday-Friday 8:30 until 16:30 and is a long-term position.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have a fully enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one.
  • Have experience of working in a transferable role.
  • Assist pupils in lessons and activities.
  • Be flexible and resilient, meeting the diverse needs of students.
  • Work effectively with parents, carers, and other members of multidisciplinary teams to provide the best support.
  • Be confident in working alongside students, ensuring they are fully supported within their learning and general classroom activities.
  • Possess communication skills that can be personalised to suit students of different abilities.
