Job Title: Wellbeing Learning Support Assistant
Location: Newcastle Upon Tyne
Contract Type: Temporary
Leader Education are searching for a reliable and dedicated individual to work as a Learning Support Assistant in a SEND school in the Newcastle area. This role will require the candidate to work on a 1:1 basis alongside a child with complex needs. The ideal candidate will be a committed individual who has experience working alongside children who have complex needs.
This role will require the candidate to ensure the emotional and mental welfare of the students by providing the necessary wellbeing support throughout their educational journey. Therefore, it is essential that the candidate has a strong understanding the range of different social, emotional and mental health barriers which can frequently arise when working with children with complex needs.
The normal working pattern is Monday-Friday 8:30am until 4pm and is a long-term position.
The successful candidate will have:
- Strong classroom management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Adaptability and a commitment to meeting the diverse needs of students.
- Proficiency in utilising technology for teaching and learning purposes.
- Applicants will be required to obtain an enhanced DBS check.
