Job Title: Food Technology Teacher

Location: Sunderland

Contract Type: Long term

Leader Education are recruiting a Food Technology Teacher who would thrive within a Sunderland based SEMH school.

This role involves working with students who have social, emotional and mental health needs, therefore experience supporting vulnerable individuals is necessary.

This role consists of providing food technology lessons to Key Stage 4 pupils. The ideal teacher will be friendly, resilient and have a genuine passion for enriching student's education.

The normal working pattern is Monday-Friday 8:30 until 16:30 and is a long-term position.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Qualified teacher status (QTS) and relevant teaching qualifications.
  • A current DBS that is on the update system, or a willingness to obtain one.
  • Previous experience teaching Food Technology.
  • Ability to effectively deliver the curriculum in an engaging manner.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with pupils, colleagues, parents, and other professionals.
  • Adaptability and initiative to accommodate for various learning type and abilities, striving towards social and academic development.
  • High expectations and aspirations for young people and themselves.
