Job description

Leader Education are recruiting a Cover Supervisor to work at a large SEMH School based in South Tyneside. The ideal Cover Supervisor will have a Sports Background, this includes having previous experiences in a sports related role or having gained a sports related qualification. This alongside a passion for working with young people. The school caters for young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) difficulties.

The normal working pattern is Monday to Friday, 8:30am until 4:30pm and is a long-term position.

The successful candidate will have:

  • An enhanced DBS on the update service, or the willingness to obtain one.
  • Implement lessons, that have been prepared, when the regular teacher is absent, and create a positive and effective learning setting.
  • Offer supervision and support to students, overseeing their behaviour and create an inclusive and respectful environment.
  • Assist in the completion of assigned tasks and activities, actively engaging students in their learning objectives.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff to ensure continuity in the delivery of the curriculum.
  • Maintain precise records of student attendance and promptly report any incidents or problems to relevant staff members.
  • Collaborate with teaching colleagues to ensure a consistent curriculum delivery.
  • Uphold the school's policies and procedures, promoting a safe and nurturing environment for all.
