Job description
Leader Education are recruiting for a Behaviour Learning Support Assistant to work at a coeducational secondary school and sixth form based in Northallerton. The ideal candidate will be passionate about education, be able to communicate effectively, as well as having experience with children who exhibit some challenging behaviours. This school caters for students aged 11-18 and prides itself on high-quality learning as well as narrowing the gaps in achievement for all students tackling challenging circumstances and SEND.
This schools most recent Ofsted report was rated as "Good" as they continue to provide an engaging curriculum to support all students needs and abilities.
The normal working pattern is Monday to Friday 8:30am to 4pm and is a long-term position, upon a successful trial.
The successful candidate will have:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Previous exposure working alongside children and young adults exhibiting challenging behaviour
- A great understanding of the safeguarding and welfare of all children and young people.
- Adaptability and a commitment to meeting the diverse needs of students.
- A patient, compassionate and resilient personality with the ability to support the students in accessing the curriculum and classroom activities
