Job Title: Autism Inclusion Support Worker

Location: Wakefield, West Yorkshire

Contract Type: Temp to Perm, Full Time from September

Leader Education is seeking an empathetic and proactive Autism Inclusion Support Worker to join a specialist 11-18 school in Wakefield. The school supports students with complex needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and is looking for a committed professional to promote inclusion and deliver personalised support to a young person with autism on a 1:1 basis.

This is a full-time role starting in September, offering a temp-to-perm opportunity for the right candidate.

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 3:30 pm

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

Experience working with children or young people with Autism in an educational, residential, or care setting; An understanding of inclusive support practices and autism-specific strategies (e.g., PECS, Makaton, sensory regulation tools); A compassionate, adaptable, and person-centred approach to working with students who have diverse communication and behavioural needs; The ability to work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and SEN teams to ensure inclusive learning experiences; A commitment to safeguarding, equality, and nurturing the wellbeing of every learner.
